StaffMe increases its NPS by 0.8 with Aria

StaffMe puts students and companies in touch with each other for one-off assignments. The marketplace wanted students to be paid as soon as their assignment was completed, but for a long time it had to contend with delays in payment by its clients. It solved the problem by choosing Aria, an API-based invoice financing solution integrated into StaffMe’s core product environment.

We integrated Aria very simply into our ecosystem. Our exchanges were extremely fluid, from the meeting to the operational implementation. At present, payment deadlines are no longer an issue for the staffers - the students who provide services on the platform. And Aria also brings us new business arguments.

Challenge

Delays in payment lead to large cash flow gaps and demotivate staffers.

Students who carry out assignments via StaffMe want to receive their money quickly to pay their rent, their shopping, their outings, their holidays, etc.

However, the platform’s clients, particularly large companies, generally have accounting and financial processes that require payments to be made at least 30 or even 45 days after the invoice is issued.

This created a significant challenge for StaffMe:

  • They wanted to ensure students received timely payments.
  • They needed to cater to the financial processes of their corporate clients.

The marketplace was regularly faced with a dilemma: delaying the payment of student services, or advancing large sums of money without being able to meet the cash flow requirements.

Though StaffMe previously partnered with another service, integration hitches meant they had to end that collaboration.

Payment deadlines are one of the main concerns of our staffers. So for the product, it's clearly a major issue. So we looked to implement an invoice advance solution with another provider, but we had quite a few integration issues.

The Solution

StaffMe implemented a deferred payment solution right into their platform, allowing them to process advance payments with just a few clicks.

Aria’s and StaffMe’s team worked together to integrate Aria into the marketplace. They began by testing the Aria solution on a select batch of invoices. Once they fine-tuned the details, they fully integrated the processes using an API.

Now, the entire process is streamlined:

  • Requesting an advance? Simple.
  • Awaiting Aria’s approval or denial? Automated.
  • Handling refunds? Hassle-free.

With no late payments to deal with, StaffMe’s teams save time and energy, both in the staffers’ team and in the billing and collections department. Everyone has been able to reallocate resources to other, more strategic projects for the company.

We had a manual test phase, which was reassuring for us. We were able to take a few bills from staffers and test the whole process. It worked well and quickly. And the second phase was the API integration. Since its implementation, Aria has clearly been a relief for us, for customer service and for the staffers.

Outcomes

Through the successful integration with Aria, StaffMe achieved three significant results:

  • 95% of staffers now receive their payment in under 5 days.
  • Their NPS (from the staffers’ perspective) improved by 0.8 points.
  • Complaints related to payment delays have disappeared.

With faster payments, staffers are not only more motivated but also perform more efficiently with clients. This enhancement in service has led to even happier customers.

All I have to do is click a button and the client is advanced by Aria. So too good for me! The staffers are happy, the customers are happy. Nobody complains.
